Curious George

Curious George is an educational television show that mainly teaches about science. Curious George lives in the countryside with Ted the man with the yellow hat.The name Curious means wanting to know and learn new things as well as experimenting; and that is what George loves to do. This television cartoon helps children to use private speech as well to think critically.This cartoon facilities an aspect of psychologist Lev Vygotsky's theory; Private Speech. Private Speech can be defined as speaking to oneself externally which helps with a child's thinking processes as well as guides their actions.When children practice private speak they can accomplish complex tasks, their attention span increases as well as their level of performance. With the use real life situations and tasks children are able to connect with George's hunger for knowlegde and help him solve problems by answering or even correcting George when he does the wrong actions.Curious George is a fun filled, adventurous way in which children can learn about science and the environment.The scenery along the countryside,the level of George's curiosity, the use of animation and sound is very welcoming and appealing to children.
